From Bikepoint.com
The 16th Australian Census will be held on Tuesday, August 9, with a number of questions about your residential status, family, heritage, language, religion, education, qualifications, children, income, job and travel requirements.
We’ll leave the hot potato items alone, but we can touch on travel – or more specifically, motorcycles.
Did you know that motorcycles and scooters are excluded in the “How many registered vehicles are garaged in your household?” question?
But they are included in the "How did you travel to work today?” Therefore, we encourage anyone who rides a motorcycle or scooter to ride to work on Census day, because being counted can ultimately make a difference in a number of areas, including road safety funding and a recognition of the vital role that powered two-wheelers play in reducing traffic congestion.
And we’ve only touched on the thin end of the wedge.
You can complete the Census in two ways - the time-honoured paper version which has probably already been delivered to your abode, or on-line. http://www.abs.gov.au/websitedbs/censushome.nsf/home/2011+Census+-+eCensus
Have your say and make powered two-wheleers count in 2011. _________________ http://www.ratscafe.org
