Mikuni HSR42's High performance flat slide carbs for Bonneville or Thruxton.
The HSR42 Carburetor kit was specifically developed for the Triumph Bonneville/Thruxton. The kit is designed exclusivly for Bonneville Performance. It consists of twin 42mm HSR Mikunis, CNC machined billet manifolds, top brace, Push pull throttle cables with twist grip, single pull choke cable, K+N Filters, twin accelorator pump assembly with elusive N° 50 jet
All as enclosed photos, all in full working order, only requires rubber between carbs and billet manifolds
Current price from Bonneville Performance $1450 + shipping - I am open to reasonable offers.

G'day Phil
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but just curious why you sold the HSR's ? I am toying with an upgrade - carb's being the starting point - and at this stage it's a toss up between FCR39's and HSR 42's. I have recently fitted a single HSR42 to a Twin Cam and the improvement was surprising. I can only imagine what a pair of them would do to a Bonnie. The kit is comparable price wise when you look at the air/battery box being included with the HSR kit so I was kinda leaning that way.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

I have had both the Mikuni 42's and FCR 39's they are both good, the Mikunis easier to tune, but as they are two single carbs made into one, then made to fit the Bonneville they have the heaviest throttle action ever.

The FCR's have a super light throttle action, harder to tune but when you have read enough on tuning them, it starts to make sense and becomes easier. The FCR carbs is a pair of carbs not two singles

The tuning methods for the two carb types are just about opposite each other, when that sinks in it all comes together.

Sorry to go on, it is only the different throttle actions that made my mind up.

Thanks Phil. At this stage it is a "saving" game so no real rush to leap in.
Did you fit the carb's to a stock bike ? I have Specialty Spares TT Pipes and the snorkel removed/high flow filter but that's it (air box will be irrelevant anyway). I read on the bonnevilleperformance site that they reckoned up to 30% increase in power on a stock 790cc. Seems a lot but good bang for the buck if it's anywhere near accurate. How would you rate them from a "seat of the pants" point of view ?
Thanks for your feedback
