|
|
I bid on this in X large and was the 2nd highest bidder. And then got a 2nd chance offer of same jacket, but in Medium!
No good to me, but thought would offer up to anyone who may be interested. Comes with all tags as it is brand new, old stock. And Genuine, not a copy.
Price is $249 with free postage (Apparently Triumph sold them for over $700)
Ebay Company selling them is based in Queensland
If want it, just bank deposit me and I will pay and ask for it to be sent directly to you.
Either reply here or pm me _________________ http://www.ratscafe.org

blumtnman wrote: | I hate to burst your bubble here, but that jacket isn't genuine. If you check the logo you will find it is the new one. These jacket were only sold with the old logo and also in numbered sizes, i.e. 40/50 42/52 etc. How do I know? Well I just happen to have one of the original ones. I should wear it to the Rockers ride and you can check it out there. |
Still in case anyone interested I thought should post. But sizes did not actually say large and medium
Quote: | It showed as This item available is a;
50/60 X Large (XL)
44/54 Medium (M) |
Obviously highest bidder took XL
But if anyone is interested in it. be quick, as I dont know how long a 2nd chance offer is open for?
And wont purchase unless someone wants it _________________ http://www.ratscafe.org

Thanks for that benny
Now that is interesting as they either made two retro jackets, or it is actually a copy? But why would they make a copy with that difference?
Probably wont find out either way anyway. As 2nd chance offer has now ended.
labels also look pretty real to me, tho would not call it red?

Well, well, thats the same tag that is on mine. Its a good fake but still a fake, the run of those jackets was finished before the logo changed. The new logo has not featured on the chequer jacket ever. A quick enquiry to Triumph would probably settle the point. _________________ Born to Ride. |

Its not a fake for sure
Even if do an image google http://www.google.com/search?q=triumph%20retro%20jacket&hl=en&rlz=1D1MEDA_en-GBAU350AU454&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1024&bih=637&sei= yEOwTuC4M8GZiAfMiYXUAg
this jacket comes up on too many reputable web sites to be a fake.
It is just that the jacket was made with both logo styles.
Email from guy selling same jacket below
Quote: | Dear David,
I checked with the Triumph importers (PSI) this morning (they viewed the Ebay photos) and they confirmed that the jacket is genuine and was supplied by them to the dealer that I purchased it off. They also confirmed from the serial numbers that this jacket was made in 2000 by their clothing suppliers. It appears that the various forums are probably incorrect in their assumption that this jacket is a fake.
Regards
Steve |

Pity He does not mention who dealer was as is good advertising for them if nothing else. But it is most def the real thing.
If anyone is interested in bidding on this in medium. here is the relisted items link http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/250921696428?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:VRI&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2661 _________________ www.ratscafe.org

Hmm, as I said yesterday its maybe a real one, but imported from the USA. Definitely not sold from the Triumph importer in AUS. _________________ Born to Ride. |

lol You really are a hard man to convince Mick. The item number shows it to be genuine Triumph merchandise for 2002 (with unbroken swirl), and Steve who actually purchased it from a Sydney Dealer researched it and found it to be genuine from the Aus importers. Plus other one shown, comes from a Queensland dealer ?
I am pretty certain myself its genuine mate
There was Chinese copies made apparently, But these never had tags and were inferior in quality. And anyone who was to copy would just copy the same as original, rather than make a changed logo. _________________ http://www.ratscafe.org
