http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320806815096

Classic 60s Classic Period look shrouded shocks with triple rate springs for better handling. Fits Triumph Hinkley bonneville and T100 models. 330mm between centres with 14mm id mountings, 5 way preload adjustment

No doubt everyone's seen the post re these shocks, well mine arrived and upon first looks I was suitably impressed, good solid black and good chroming - but looks aside how would they fit.

In short it took me a lazy ten minutes all up and that included jacking the swingarm up (and back down again) a teeny bit because they are 5mm shorter although having a centre stand helped, the bushes were a good solid fit as are the rubbers. I noticed no difference with the lower ride height and it felt pretty much the same on the road as the stockers, BUT as those that know my bike also know it has been fully maintained from day one and being the third owner I can't say if my stock shocks had been replaced at any stage. I can't comment on rough roads as there are none around here apart from potholes and I try to avoid them but if I come across a rutted road I'll add to this post.

Are they worth the 97 (give or take a few cents) bux? I'd say yes, especially if you are after a particular look, but if you just need to replace your stockers because they're knackered and don't mind the Japanese look then go for something else - the seller (Keith) also does a Girling style so you are pretty well covered.

Out of ten I give them the following:
Appearance: 10 (I'm biased toward the classic look)
Ease Of Fitting: 9.5
Road Feel: 10 (based on smooth road use only)

Her who must be obeyed went ape shit when I got these, the thought of replacing the indicators with shorter ones is just too scary. I had to explain the concept of style and appearance over modern and 'orrible and after I did she still fumped me so it's all good Shocked

I think Churchy can tell you what she can rant like - I'm pretty sure he heard her when he suggested shortening my rear guard Laughing

TBH Boof If want a longer shock then you cannot get shrouds. The only one available is the girling type Scrambler shock. Still it is black which looks cool

My mistake was I had not made clear that I had the Hinckley and our duiscussion was originally based on length of T120 shocks.

My bad, but Keith was still very accomodating. I have gone the Scrambler shock, but have the top cap only from the shrouded shock. I really wanted to go higher so this was really only option other than girling Scrambler.
As the spring diameter on Scrambler is thicker, it will mean that after a short time the powdercoating will be rubbed where shroud cup is too snug a fit.

I would really I guess have been better myself to go Scrambler without shroud cap, but wanted to look a bit different.

was posted yesterday so will add pics when arrives

Well they arrived yesterday and must say I am very impressed with how they look. The quality is great. In fact the finish is far better than the original stocks finish

The letter that arrives with them is basically an open guarantee that if anything at all is not right will refund all including postage! Some good clear instructions and after service details also provided.
Packaging is also very safe and secure.

I am very happy with the look and cant wait to fit them to get that little bit extra height.

There the shocks from a Scrambler Boof. So half inch higher than stock Bonny ones

i got mine via an auction and no one else bid ?

But i am sure he does "Buy it now" as well

I do like look of mine to. But bear in mind that cap is from shroud type shock so is very likely to rub. And He does not sell or recommend this one. Only time will tell what its gonna wear like. But I am happy with the risk.

Should email him anyway Boof as is a great guy and very helpfull

Keith is a decent fella, got me grab rail from him today - a little taller than expected but sweet either way.

I have spoken to a couple of people that used his centre stand and they have no complaints other that the instructions are a bit vague
But as it is a copy of the triumph one there instructions should be OK
