Hi, This is just to let you all know that the jam night at the Carousel (Rooty Hill) starts back on the 13th January, at 8.15 in the sports bar. If you would like to play bring your instrument (Drumers only sticks) or just come along to see some live music. Everyone is welcome.

For over 5 years now I've been popping in to the Muso's Jam nights of a Wednesday evening.
A whiteboard is set up for muso's to come in, approach the hosts to see if there is a spot for them to sit in on? You might play and or sing - groups are formed and they play 3 songs.
Sometimes - magic happens. Sometimes - well - it is an amateur night
If you play and or sing - a great gig to dust off the drumsticks and varnish the vocal chords.
The Jam currently plays Wednesdays at The Bald Faced Stag Hotel, Leichhardt.

and Thirstys at the Carousel, Shaggers Ridge.
"Musos Club Jam Night hosted by Jim Finn & Al Britton: Carousel Inn Hotel, Woodstock Ave, ROOTY HILL Sydney West (8pm, 96259199)"
Some of the Forum folk play at these events.

As Pazzazz will also be going (thats the guy you and chris met recently at the other jam night) Any chance of a lift Steve
He is also interested in a pair of my goggles so will take a pair to show him as requested. Any preference in which pair Pazzazz, and what time can (if can) will you pick me up? _________________ www.ratscafe.org

Churchy,
Also good to catch up with you and the Caro Crowd.
Haven't been out there for a while.
Eager to see you up on stage singing sometime.
Steve, sorry we come in for your gig - seems, talking about motorbikes took main stage on the night.
btb, I am new to you all and I should warn you I am a chronic waffler.
Get me started after a few beers and off I go.
Apologies in advance. =] _________________ Cheersh,

Not really sure what I meant mate.
Reminds me of the time went up the caro for a quick drink and some take aways. Bottlo was about to close so got some long necks before I went inside, asked the barmaid to put 'em in the fridge and got a schooner. Got halfway through the schooner and bouncer comes up and tells me i have to leave.
Anyway finished the drink and headed to the bar and bouncer asks where you going. Told him I don't mind leaving but not without my longnecks! Not sure who was more confused after that. |

well in good company anyway
Sturgis and Psycho are the experts at being Barred on Sight and I am the expert at being barred on site lol
Was actually barred from Riders Australia Triumph forum. Still not really sure of reason other than maybe nic being same name as a website. (Probably best not to say what my nic was, as this is open thread for all)
But 12 months later I was re-instated and still have same nic there _________________ www.ratscafe.org

Had one schooner there, caught up with a few old footy mates who bought me a jd n cola. Had 2 sips.
Then had two coconut bouncers telling me I had to leave cause I was drinking other peoples drinks......the fellas said "he only just got here & we bought him that"...........
then telling me I was drunk & had too many..... and said to one of the fellas who was tiny "you wanna go too".......
Then started pushing me around outside trying to get a reaction.....
did nothing, was mellow........dont do pubs with "security" anymore if i can help it, see me as a threat or something..
Feel a hell of a lot safer without them..........
if ya have a disagreement with another islander..........they'll hold you while he throws a few from the blindside. "Colyton Hotel" but thats another story..........Multiculturism.............6 onto 1........walked away though.
Need bouncers with some intelligence, is that possible?
The annandale is the place for awesome tunes & a mellow atmosphere. Good local talent. People are there for the bands. |

I can only really talk about the jam night on Thursdays. But I have to say that I have been going to the Caro over the last 4 years quite often and on some occasions like the battle of the bands the place has been packed. But I have never seen any trouble at all. In fact the atmosphere is always pleasant. Most would now know me anyway including the security who is an Islander, and tho we dont know each others names, we certainly know each other and say a few pleasantries. I had heard it was a rough place But that has not been the case on the Thursday night jam sessions.
The Anno use to be a regular for me when I lived in balmain. Saw some great bands there. _________________ www.ratscafe.org
