took my bike to TM Blacktown for a valve clearance - after some own work later found they had just dumped the airbox back on - inlet hoses were all creased and not seated so bike was sucking directly from the outside - may as well have had no airbox on at all - they also charged me for fixing the fuel connectors which were perfect when I took it in.

Reckon I will try the Bikebiz guys next time...

Last time I used Team moto Blacktown, was because I got a puncture nearby. I took Bike straight into workshop (where two children with there father were waiting also) I had a stuffed rat (very expensive and very lifelike on Tank rack). I actually debated whether I should remove it.

While the Guy was being served I walked into main showroom to look around. Arrived back 5 minutes later to find rat gone!

Kids and father gone But all in workshop were adament it was not on there! Came back two days later to get bike and enquired if they had spoken to the guy with the kids (nope) and only noticed when I got home that they had replaced my Chrome dustcap on wheel that was punctured with a black plastic one. Never bothered to call them as sure they would all be adament was not on there.

In my opinion, no matter where you go you will get the same service.......out of experience you must build a relationship with you choice of mechanic .....then you will always have the upper hand......

i have been dealing with the manger ( steve ) at the beginning my bike would be handed back to me , with finger prints all over, and muck and crap all over..................so i went inside and complained......mind you i was loud with my complaint, so everybody would hear me...........so 6 years later i have purchased a number of bikes and accessories and services. the short of the long story....i have built a relationship and i get the service............God help them if they dont..............if you know what i mean........if anyone has a complaint i would be happy to complain on your behalf .... Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

I use Procycles StPeters, they are getting there but the service is still crap compared to UK dealers. They do wash the bike for you after the service though which is a nice touch, but I would expect it to be given back in the condition I leave it - clean!!

Stories like these are why I try to do as much as I can myself. Dunno what I'll do if something major needs work - probably do it myself again (it's only an aircooled twin) and learn about it along the way.

As an aside - I've found older blokes who are Fitter and Machinists or Toolmakers to be really good with bikes. Very mechanically sympathetic.

I'll take that as a compliment Smile When I did my time it was 5 years on the job schooling. The result today is we can look at a job, apply engineering principles and usually get a good result. We tend to be slow and take pride in the results.
The problem with a lot of the younger blokes today is they go to a one day training course on bike A and can do exactly what was demonstrated. Too bad if you have bike B and the training is next week. Crying or Very sad
