I've picked up another set of FCR39s so the old set is going. I thought I'd offer them to the brotherhood/sisterhood first.

They're an older pair of FCR39s and whoever had them before me gave them a hard time. While they do have some slight issues they do make the bike fly. The issues -

1. The RH carb is lean when the bike is cold (runs fine when warm/hot). It'll spit and carry on a bit until it's warmed up. I think it could be the vacuum plate (?) and was going to replace that until I got the other set of carbs.

2. When I was setting the carbs up I drilled out the slow air jet access hole in the bellmouth (as advised on the net Rolling Eyes ) but this just started to come through on the outside. Not wanting to suck air and run lean I put some epoxy metal over the suspect area to solve the problem. There are no air leaks and I've swapped the bellmouths from carb to carb to check there is no difference between the two. The bellmouths are easily replaced if ever you want.

3. One of the screws that holds the top cover on one carb is partially stripped. A longer 4mm screw solves the problem.

4. One of the lugs that one of the bellmouths screws to is partially broken away - but there is more than enough there for the bellmouth to mount securely and properly.

I've fitted new float needles and floatbowl gaskets (fiddly fucking things). The carbs come jetted with 140 mains, 55 pilots and FBR needles. The carbs came with the idle adjusting cable just dangling (normal for these carbs) but I fitted a bracket I pinched off the original CVKs and modded a bit so idle adjustment is a piece of piss.

I was going to put them on evilbay at a starting price of $495 and let it go from there. However if one of you guys wants them you can have them for $450. Even despite the issues this is still pretty cheap for a set of FCR39s.
