Think you and Benny read Ad wrong. The bike is not for sale, its for swap.
But you are correct re badge, as T/bird wont be getting the Harmonica back. I always intended to use this bike to obtain a vintage one BTW unless i fell in love with it. I do like it enough not to sell just yet but if get good offer will swap. And if should decide to sell it instead, then will register 1st
So far have been offered a 1975 BMW R75 / 6 Which is not a make or model I am that familiar with. So doing a bit of research and gonna go look at it if interested. Anyone know about this model?
And a Toyota 4 X 4 truck lol
Book safe mate and will get back to you. Many thanks for loan and all the best for Xmas and the new year to you and yr family as well _________________ www.ratscafe.org

Well that is sorta right Benny as I will only part with it for a bike I want. Certainly not considering selling it just yet, as it is a nice looking bike, bar the bloody dent in tank !!!!!
Anyone familiar with 1975 BMW R75 / 6 ?
Am pretty sure that was first year they got rid of kick start which puts me off straight away _________________ www.ratscafe.org

Yeah, I know a little bit of them.
Made in Germany in 1975. A 750cc engine from memory discribed as transvestly opposed or something like that.
Not quite sure what the "6" stands for as it's not the number of cylinders that's for sure.
Basically a Vdub engine with a coupla barrels left off.
A Claytons bike by my thinking. The bike you ride when you haven't got a real bike to ride (That should bring the Beemer enthuasiests up and swinging).
Did that help
But with a little bit of seriousness. Supposed to be a good reliable bike and long distance tourer (but so is a Honda CT 110 if you wanted it to be). |

I hope your not knocking VeeDubs !!
From my limited research I am of similar opinion to you so far Cobba
Nice seat on them but otherwise a pretty ordinary looking bike and no kick start for that vintage look but heaps of plastic
Its looking like a "Thanks but No Thanks" _________________ www.ratscafe.org

Dave i had a R75/6 and found it was great , i did many a mile on it
Great to ride , good looking , well built
Dont know where you get the plastic bits from
Can you post a pik of the one that was offered
That is one bike i would buy now if i had the funds as a keeper
Not a good pik but all i have
In saying all that i think the Thunderbird is worth more that the BMW
Some cash should be coming your way if the deal is done _________________

Not really sure if they are plastic Boof but rear guard, indicators and speedo/tacho unit sure look plasticy to me.
And only plastic bits I would like are tank pads which seem to be missing.
Would def have to be some cash exchange, as can see needs bit of work, but not really sure I even like it TBH.
Any idea of what the /6 means?

Just a model number , before the /6 was the /5
The /6 was a disk model with drilled disk ,The /5 had disks without the holes
Only a small thing but made a difference at the time
The early /5 were kick start as well
Just had a look on Bikepoint and they are asking lots of money for really good ones
That photo you showed looks likes it need a bit of tidying up
Still a great bike to ride if that is what you want _________________
