Well sent of 2 emails on feb 28. One to there Dandenong store and one to the Frankston store

Quote:
A friend has just purchased a 2002 base model 790 cc Bonny in Sky blue/Silver.

He was informed by the previous owner that this colour was only 1 of 10 that were imported to Australia.

I was also told to contact you (peter Stevens) as you are the Official importers for Triumph to Australia (again not sure if this is true) ?

But was wondering if you could confirm this to be the case, that only 10 Sky blue 02 models made it to australia, or where I may be able to obtain this information?

Thanks in advance

David

And 5 days later, still no reply!

I have to say that any company that does not reply to correspondence, dont get my business.

I dont think you will get much info from peter Stevens the retail outlets
Triumph Australia is the owner of the retail outlets but are a separate business
And at times much more user friendlier that the shops
I have the contact number for them somewhere , I will post if i can dig it up

What a coincidence. No sooner do you post that they haven't done anything and you get an email apologising for not replying Rolling Eyes

If I was a suspicious man I'd get the feeling someone read your post and then followed up on it, but I'm not a suspicious kinda guy.
Suspicious looking character, maybe. Confused

It's called "pick up the fargin phone n ringing 'em" I'm not defending PS' but it took one phone call to get all the info on my bike and to the best of my knowledge, PS's bought out procycles - the name and number is still in the yellow pages vic version coz that's where I got it from, they answered the phone with Peter Stevens and I had to double check I rang the right number.

I went down to my local Triumph dealer this morning and asked all these questions
The answers i got were
The last 6 digits will tell you what it is, where it was sold from, and when .
The other stuff means nothing to them so they dont care
A phone call from my man at Sunstate to Triumph Aust was told much the same thing
The VIN means different things to different countries
What he did tell us was that ever since they stated ASSEMBLING Triumphs in Asia that a sticker has been added to the steering head
F2 for ASSEMBLED in the UK
F4 for ASSEMBLED in Asia
Now that is only for the Bonneville range including the America and Speedmaster
I noticed a 2012 Speedmaster with F5 on it today
Maybe this means that the UK has 2 factory's and Asia has 3
