"On August 26, 1990, Stevie Ray Vaughan played what would become
his last concert at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre.
Vaughan’s set included favorites such as “Pride and Joy”,
Couldn’t Stand the Weather”, and “Crossfire”, as well as
Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)”.
The finale song of the night was Robert Johnson’s “Sweet Home Chicago”,
in which Vaughan played with Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray,
and his brother Jimmie. After the concert, Vaughan boarded a helicopter bound for Chicago.
Tragically, minutes after takeoff in a dense fog, the helicopter crashed,
killing all on board.
Stevie Ray Vaughan died on August 27, 1990, at the age of 35."

Another of the sad list of gifted people taken from us all too soon.

I remember hearing of it on the news and it dont seem that long ago !

No collection is complete without Double trouble and Couldn't stand the weather.
